Signature All Starz History
The Journey to becoming Signature All Starz
Where we started
Signature All Starz was born in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. In March 2020 Starz Dance Centre and Signature Cheer & Dance Studio, we’re forced to close their studio doors due to the pandemic. With the desire to continue providing our students with ongoing support, training and inspiration Signature All Starz was created as the online studio space for both Signature Cheer & Dance Studio and Starz Dance Center.
Students and families from across both studios warmly embraced each other, and new friendships were formed during the online classes. This new connection between both studios inspired Director Amy to fully integrate the two studios into one incredible studio across 3 locations.
On September 1st 2020, we officially became Signature All Starz.
Starz Dance Center History
Starz Dance Centre was opened in 2004 by Laura Smith. After 14 years running the highly successful studio which has seen numerous students move into pre-professional training and professional careers the studio was sold to current director Amy Citroen in December 2018. Amy had previously spent five years as a teacher at Starz dance Center from 2011-2016. Starz held very fond memories for Amy being the studio her daughters first danced. When the opportunity to purchase the studio came along, it was an easy decision.
Signature Cheer & Dance Studio History
Signature Cheer & Dance Studio was launched in 2013 by current director Amy Citroen. The studio grew quickly in its first year from 5 initial students to 35 students performing at our first showcase. In 2014 we launched our competitive program and increased further to 80 students taking 12 athletes to our First Australian All-Star Cheerleading and Dance National Championships. Since then, we have continued to grow and developed our recreational and competitive programs over the years. We have had the privilege to watch our students grow and develop over the years. We have celebrated many achievements with our families from new skills, public performances, competition results, dedication and commitment awards, new family members, engagements, academic success and students becoming qualified staff members. We proudly boast a full coaching team that has been with us since 2014/15, including staff that were once students who have worked hard to become qualified coaches.
We are so very excited to see where this next chapter in our studio’s history takes us. We look forward to providing a holistic approach to training and educating our athletes, their families and our staff during their time with us, by providing access to information and experts in the areas of child and adolescent psychology, nutrition, training and exercise, physiotherapy and injury prevention, goal setting, mindset and mental health.
By sharing our love and passion for all things cheer and dance, we hope we can inspire our community to develop a passion and love that lasts a lifetime. By using our desire to provide a positive, uplifting experience and nurturing environment, helping our students to learn how to engage in a team environment that supports their dreams and goals as a collective and as an individual.
By encouraging our students to achieve their best at every age and stage of their cheer and dance career, it is our dream to see our students become leaders in their community and show confidence in who they are becoming and what they choose to do later in life.
